Lounge-O-Rama Live! 2009

On an idyllic Saturday afternoon in April, Lounge-O-Rama participated in the 9th Annual Caltech Jazz Festival. The line-up featured two 17-piece big bands and five local groups - all extremely talented. We stole the show. We didn't mean to, it just happened. If you're a musician, you know how difficult it is to capture the energy, passion and just plain great vibe of a live show. It usually ends up as a case of "I guess you had to be there."

Not this time

These recordings, courtesy of SSR Sound are proof positive that a live recording can capture the music and energy of a live show.

Route 66

Our signature opener.

3.9M
Boy From Ipanema

Joy's unique take on this classic tune. Ipanema will never be the same.

4.0M
Going To Chicago Blues

Dalina tells like it is. You can literally feel the judgment and condemnation!

5.1M
Im Gonna Sit Right Down (and Write Myself a Letter)

This old standard is made new by Lauren "Rockstar" Chu's energetic performance. Sinatra wishes he'd had it so good.

2.9M
Honky Tonk Woman

Guitar-slinger Laurence Yeung can't hide the fact that he is an inspiring guitarist and showman. To say we have fun doing this is a huge understatement.

2.6M
Just A Gigolo

It's too bad the mics are so well focused on the band. The crowd nearly destroyed the beautiful patio area, they went so crazy. Did Louis/Keely have a mosh pit?

4.3M
Sway

It's difficult to get sexier than this. The chemistry between Joy and Patrick is electric. Good thing the recording equipment was shielded

3.3M
BesameMucho

Ok, this is even sexier. Not only do we do it, we do it in Spanish!

4.7M
Angel Eyes

Joy's rendition of Angel Eyes is not just a fresh take, it pulls you in, transforms you and leaves you hitting replay over and over.

4.4M
All Of Me

Our traditional gig-ender with Joy. It all happens so fast!
